This article explores the dangers of selfishness within the context of Christianity, highlighting how it runs contrary to the principles of love, compassion, and humility that Jesus exemplified.</p>
<h4>The Foundation of Christian Love</h4>
<p>Central to the teachings of Christianity is the commandment to love one's neighbor as oneself. In Mark 12:31 (NIV), Jesus states, "The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these." Selfishness contradicts this fundamental principle, as it places one's desires and needs above those of others. When individuals prioritize themselves to the detriment of their fellow human beings, they fail to fulfill the call to love unconditionally.</p>

<h4>I. Embracing Identity in Christ:</h4>
<p>Christian youth are not just the future of the Church; they are essential members of the body of Christ today. Embracing their identity in Christ empowers them to live purpose-driven lives. Just as the psalmist declared, "I am fearfully and wonderfully made," our young people must understand their worth as beloved children of God. This knowledge anchors their faith and influences every aspect of their lives.</p>
