Scripture:
“But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
— Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
Reflection
Waiting is one of the most difficult spiritual disciplines. We often associate waiting with delay, weakness, or uncertainty. Yet Scripture reveals that waiting on the Lord is not passive—it is an active posture of trust. Isaiah reminds us that when we wait on God, something powerful happens: our strength is renewed.
God does not promise that we will never grow tired, but He promises that those who rely on Him will not be overcome by weariness. Like an eagle that soars above the storm rather than fighting against it, the believer who waits on the Lord learns to rise above circumstances through faith. Waiting deepens our dependence on God and teaches us patience, humility, and endurance.
In a world that pushes us to act quickly and rely on ourselves, God invites us to slow down and place our confidence in Him. His timing is perfect, and His strength never fails.
Application
You may be waiting for answers—direction in life, healing, restoration, or provision. Instead of rushing ahead in frustration, choose to wait with hope. Waiting on God means trusting that He is working even when you cannot see it.
Ask yourself:
Am I trusting God’s timing, or trying to force my own?
How can I grow spiritually while I wait?
What does it mean for me to rely on God’s strength today?
Each moment of waiting can become a moment of renewal when we surrender it to the Lord.
A Prayer You May Say
Lord God, teach me to wait on You with faith and patience. When I feel weary or discouraged, renew my strength. Help me to trust Your timing and Your plans for my life. Lift my eyes above my circumstances and give me hope as I walk by faith and not by sight. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
